Space Shuttle Discovery all set to fly today! India and US miss Kalpana Chawla!

Space Shuttle Discovery is all set to fly in next few hours on mission STS-114 to test new safety techniques and deliver needed supplies to the International Space Station. This is the first space shuttle to be launched since the Columbia crash two years ago. All the best to the Discovery's crew of seven astronauts!

At this moment, it is hard to forget the Columbia crash on February 1, 2003 which took life of Kalpana Chawla and other crew members. The feeling of pain remains!

Discovery will carry a photograph of India-born astronaut Kalpana Chawla and mementos of her colleagues who perished in the tragedy.

Kalpana Chawla(PH.D.) had two space flight experience, one with mission STS-87 Columbia in 1997 and other with mission STS-107 Columbia in 2003 in which she died as Columbia crashed just 16 minutes before scheduled landing.
